Final anecdote (August: chapter 4)

In "chapter 3" I mentioned: "the Suchness of life" Rambling on about how it (Life) is entirely unpredictable, changing and fascinatingly senseless... :) how Life is a dynamic process and there is no predicting what effect one small change will have on the rest of the system"

We teach and are taught rules, facts, processes and a LOT of theory and then we try to predict the future and prescribe methods according to these models, when in fact nobody can really predict, prescribe or lecture anything, because the world is constantly changing!

I think this single fact contributes the most to the frustration of the youth today! There is just too much information out there! Too many theories, too much change and unpredictability. Just short of 100 years ago women had 3 "career" choices: to be a teacher, a nurse or a housewife (ok, and a whore - but lets not count that).

Nowadays a woman can be literally ANYTHING! From a CEO to a fighter-pilot. The world as our parents and grandparents knew it no longer exists... and 2 generations is not nearly enough for the emotional/ mental or social evolution of a species. Many of our parents are in a position where their conventional wisdom can hardly afford them a proper pension or investments to see them through their "golden" years...

The world has changed so much that what was sufficient preparation in their days is not so anymore! This is sad but also very scary! Somewhere somehow things got screwed up Real Bad! And I don't think anybody really knows how to survive in this global "climate". I think that nature (and the nature of our species) has created its own pressure points - which will drive the evolution of our global population and most likely create a very drastic bottleneck (a natural "culling") of the world's people.
I guess fighting against the process of life itself is rather pointless... so we wait and see what happens! All I can say is that in order for me (for example) to stay sane (?) an acceptance of the lack of control we have over life is necessary. It will be best for me to accept that I cannot force others to follow any particular rules (no matter how important I know they are) and that reality does not conform to the "facts" and theories that we prescribe to it. That's just a part of LIFE!

Nothing in this world really makes sense and to try and make sense of it is mostly a waste of time.
